The rest of the evening was spent to repair my chipped Sportsman door. Thanx Ronnie and Mr. Quek for their unselffish assistance and excellent repair lesson. The photo shows the bolt and nut loosely tighened only coz need to clarifiy abt the positioning of the washers from Glasair Aviation.

09 November 2007. Have achieved a lot today with engineering attachment with SIA. Completed drilling the strut beam , having read the manual several times.Since no photo taking is allowed, i could only take the post drill photo. I pass drilled with 1/4" bit all holes common to the forward and aft strut beam attach angle. Then, i inserted the spacers in between with the relevant nuts and bolts. with the strut attach arm pinned as well and a 3/8" cleco on one of the larger hole, i used a " U" drill bit to drill the other end of the hole while being clamped securely. All this using the vertical drill press on site.Special thanx to Mr Chow from the sheetmetal department for sourcing a 0.373" reamer for me ..making my project smooth sailing. Other thanx goes to Mr Tan,the workshop manager and the rest of the technicians who came to help .

After finishing riveting the brackets..Note: I have decided to position my air compressor in KL permanently coz the majority of riveting in the future involves big parts like the flaps and wings stationed in KL plus to be more neighbourhood friendly back in Singapore. Only minor cutting and drilling w/ less noise will be done in Singapore during weekdays only from 10 am to 5pm excluding all holidays , not that there is any complaints but just my guilt for making a bit of noise so far for almost a year.
After back from corrosion proofing plus cutting at SIA Engineering sheetmetal workshop. Shown here with me are the angle brackets earlier marked out on the stock, rudder stop plate short of the required 15 degress bend on its side, rudder pedal and also delta wings.Using the cutter there was a piece of cake compared to my usual hours of cutting with my humble Dremel kit.
