2007. Have achieved a lot today with engineering attachment with SIA. Completed drilling the strut beam , having read the manual several times.Since no photo taking is allowed, i could only take the post drill photo. I pass drilled with 1/4" bit all holes common to the forward and aft strut beam attach angle. Then, i inserted the spacers in between with the relevant nuts and bolts. with the strut attach arm pinned as well and a 3/8" cleco on one of the larger hole, i used a " U" drill bit to drill the other end of the hole while being clamped securely. All this using the vertical drill press on site.Special thanx to Mr Chow from the sheetmetal department for sourcing a 0.373" reamer for me ..making my project smooth sailing. Other thanx goes to Mr Tan,the workshop manager and the rest of the technicians who came to help .
The rest of the evening was spent to repair my chipped Sportsman door. Thanx Ronnie and Mr. Quek for their unselffish assistance and excellent repair lesson. The photo shows the bolt and nut loosely tighened only coz need to clarifiy abt the positioning of the washers from Glasair Aviation.
